Remediation deals with the removal of pollutants or contaminants from environmental media such as soil. A leaking in-ground oil tank can contaminate the soil around the tank and once the tank removed the soil surrounding the tank is tested to determine if contaminant levels exceed State guidelines. If the soil is found to be contaminated Remediation is required.

Usually a Site Assessment is performed to determine if the designated area requires Remediation or not.
